Aquanita Racing today announced that Stuart Webb will become the fourth trainer operating under its umbrella effective from the 1st of February 2015.
"This is very exciting news for Aquanita as Stuart is a proven trainer with multiple Group 1 success under his belt” Chairman Peter Howell said in announcing the appointment.
Webb has been working as Robert Smerdon's right hand man for many years and at the same time running a small team himself out of Aquanita's Caulfield stables. During that time Yosei became his headline horse winning three times at Group 1 level.
"Stu has taken the decision to expand his team of horses in work to around twenty whilst continuing to assist Smerdon at Caulfield. He knows our systems, knows our philosophies and understands the strong support that Aquanita provides from an administration and financial point of view. As such he was the obvious choice during our recent search for appointing additional trainers to the operation" Howell added.
Aquanita is a management company that provides administration, marketing and financial support to independent horse trainers on a fee for service basis. In return those trainers promote their business under a common brand name. The economies of scale Aquanita can leverage from servicing multiple trainers provides those trainers with facilities they often cannot afford themselves.
"The training facilities and services that Aquanita provide at Caulfield are second to none when compared to any other on site stable in Australia. Large boxes for horses, horse walkers, above ground and aqua treadmills, on site veterinary surgeons and farriers and their own float equipment and agistment property made my decision a no brainer. This will have a very positive impact on my ability to grow my business and get the best out of the horses I train. It has been a major reason for deciding to expand my training operation and promote it under the Aquanita umbrella" Webb stated.
Webb joins fellow trainers working under the Aquanita brand with Robert Smerdon and John Sadler operating in Victoria and Simon Miller in Western Australia.
