Coolmore Stud has drawn the curtain on the stud career of Encosta De Lago, twice Australian champion sire.
Champion sire Encosta De Lago has been retired from active duties at Coolmore Stud.
Twice named Australia's champion stallion, the 21-year-old also earned the title in Hong King for 2011/2012 mainly because of his son Sacred Kingdom.
"He has done it all as a stallion and we are looking forward to further quality performers emerging over the coming seasons from his final crops," Coolmore's Tom Magnier said.
"We are lucky to have an interest in Rubick who looks to have the potential to represent Encosta with distinction, not only on the racecourse over the coming months, but as a top-class young sire prospect for the future."
Group Two-winning three-year-old Rubick will begin his autumn campaign in next month's Challenge Stakes.
Encosta De Lago also produced Northern Meteor who died just when he had been named champion first season sire for 2012/2013.
Northern Meteor's sons Zoustar, Eurozone and Fighting Sun are continuing the line at stud.
Encosta De Lago is the sire of 23 individual Group One winners including Sacred Kingdom, Northern Meteor, Zoustar, Alinghi, Princess Coup, Sirmione and Racing To Win.
