The Peter Moody-trained Flamberge has been scratched from Saturday’s Group 1 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield.
A precautionary scope on Wednesday morning detected mucous in the gelding and 24 hours later, the stable has elected to scratch the Exceed And Excel five-year-old.
The setback follows a brave second on resuming in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on February 14.
Flamberge was one of the favourites in the Oakleigh Plate and was the top elect of the males contesting the event.
