An eye injury will prevent in-form mare Peace Force from chasing her first Group One win in the $500,000 Tatts Tiara at the Gold Coast on Saturday week.

The Gerald Ryan-trained Peace Force suffered the injury in her last start win in the G3 Moreton Stakes over 1350m at Doomben.

Ryan said the injury had not responded to treatment as well as he had hoped and he will now consider other options for the mare.

Ryan will still hold a strong hand in the Tatts Tiara with his stablemates Solicit and Estonian Princess set to tackle the final G1 race for the season in Australia.

The classy mare Solicit has regained her best form since resuming with a win at Rosehill before finishing second to Peace Force in the Moreton Stakes.

Ryan has booked Tye Angland to ride Solicit in the Tatts Tiara, giving the talented jockey the chance to win his fourth G1 race of the season.

Meanwhile Anthony Cummings has confirmed a Tatts Tiara start for his last start Rosehill winner Vergara.

Cummings has had winter carnival plans for Vergara since she started this preparation with an impressive first-up win at Warwick Farm, but the loss of meetings in Sydney due to wet tracks upset her program followed by two unplaced efforts in May.

However she bounced back with an easy win over 1500m at Rosehill on May 30 and has delighted Cummings with her subsequent work.

“Vergara pulled up extremely well and is relishing her work,” Cummings said. ”We are looking forward to seeing her race in Queensland.”
