The racing media world is in shock after the news that 4TAB General Manager Steve Cairns has passed away after suffering a suspected heart attack in his sleep age 53.

Steve moved back to Brisbane this year after 19 years as Group Program Director of RSN-Racing & Sport (3UZ and Sport 927).

With more than three decades in radio, Steve was on-air, in Programming and Senior Management within Australia's leading sports and racing radio stations/networks.

A source at 4TAB says his death "is yet to sink in" with staff in shock
