The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly looked sharp in an open heat over 836m on the Kensington track.

Sent forward to sit just behind the speed by Winona Costin, Flippant went to the line strongly under minimal pressure to score by a length over stablemate Wolf Cry.

Flippant clocked 47.4 seconds, the fastest of the heats over the track and distance.

A last-start winner of the Magic Millions Stakes at Wyong, Flippant is a $6 equal second favourite with the TAB for the Magic Millions Guineas on January 9.

The Snowdens Magic Millions Classic favourite Capitalist did not trial as scheduled at Randwick because of a slightly elevated temperature.

Snowden told stewards that as a precaution he would not trial the colt.

Stablemate Niccolance is also on his way to the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions Classic and was given an easy time when second in an 836 metre heat on the Kensington track.

Niccolance sat behind the speed and took a rails run to hit the front in the straight but James McDonald kept him under a tight hold in the run home to finish a neck behind Godolphin runner Dissolute.

Niccolance is on the third line of TAB betting on the Magic Millions Classic at $9.

Another of the morning’s trial winners is likely to head to the Gold Coast in Straturbo.

A previous winner of the Magic Millions Sprint, the gelding is likely to head that way again after taking out an open heat over 1050 metres.

Straturbo jumped to the front for Jess Taylor and kicked away in the straight under hands and heels riding to win by 2.3 lengths over Gracious Prospect.

Another interesting trial winner was the former stakes winner Bull Point.

Now a member of the David Vandyke stable, Bull Point hasn’t raced since finishing down the track in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

Bull Point was sent to the lead by Jason Collett before being headed midway through the trial but went home strongly under hands and heels to win by 1.8 lengths over Holy Delusions.
