Politeness displayed an elevated temperature on Thursday so will not be making the journey from Melbourne for the 2016 Legacy Stakes, known as the Queen Of The Turf Stakes, run on day two of The Championships this Saturday April 9.

Politeness was a Group 1 winner of the Myer Classic at Flemington last spring.

Her withdrawal brings first emergency Supara into the field for the 2016 Legacy Stakes for trainer Gai Waterhouse and jockey Tommy Berry.

Another key early scratching from day two of The Championships is Melbourne colt Ready For Victory, who has been withdrawn from the 2016 Arrowfield Sprint.

Ready For Victory’s scratching gives a start to emergency Spieth for trainer Bruce Heys.
