Boom import Raw Impulse is a dominant early favourite in all-in betting markets on the 2016 McKell Cup.

The TAB has opened Raw Impulse as a $1.80 market elect for the 2016 McKell Cup, to be run at Randwick this Saturday May 28.

Raw Impulse has impressed in winning his three Australian starts since joining Darren Weir, the latest victory at Caulfield earlier this month.

Raw Impulse is one of 19 entries for the 2016 McKell Cup.

2016 Doncaster Prelude winner Havana Cooler and recent 2016 Lord Mayors Cup winner Ecuador are the only two runners in single figures at $6 and $8 respectively.

Sydney’s premier trainer Chris Waller has nominated seven runners for the 2016 McKell with Dance Of Heroes, Weary and Murphy’s Delight all sharing the fourth line of betting at $15.

Skylight Glow built on the promise of his maiden success at Canterbury with a nice performance here. She broke well from barrier 11 and took the lead as she moved across to the inside. Cogliere rushed forward to take up the lead but Schofield was happy to track the leader before he asked his mount to challenge with 300m to go. Skylight Glow responded well and took the lead with just over 100m to win by a comfortable half length. Runner-up Barbass moved forward after breaking sharply from the stalls but was restrained in third under Adam Hyeronimus before he was asked for a response rounding the turn. Inside the 400m Barbass made good headway but could not peg back the winner. Acatour posted an eye-catching display. Settled in last by Sam Clipperton, Acatour made very smooth headway when racing four wide around the turn and ran on well alongside the more prominently ridden Barbass. The $3.70 favourite Flow ran on well behind Acatour to finish fourth after he was restrained in the early part of the race.
