Racing Queensland called for extra entries on Monday when only 10 horses were nominated for the Listed Race over 2150m.

By 9am today five new horses had been added to the entry list including the notable pair Worthy Cause and Iggi Pop.

Both horses raced at Eagle Farm last Saturday, Worthy Cause finishing fifth in the Wayne Wilson Mile (1600m) and Iggi Pop ninth in the G2 Brisbane Cup (2400m).

However trainer Chris Waller has withdrawn his early Ipswich Cup entry Be Thankful, a positive indication that he will start that horse at Rosehill in Sydney on Saturday where he is nominated for the Kensei Handicap over 2000m.

Waller has left Dance Of Heroes in the Ipswich Cup but that horse is also nominated for the Kensei Handicap at Rosehill.

The other late entries for the Ipswich Cup are Nissile, Kurrajong Dragon, Tequila Slammer and Meru.

The Darren Weir-trained Puccini, eighth in the Brisbane Cup last Saturday, heads the Ipswich Cup weights with 59.5kg ahead of Maurus (58kg), Worthy Cause (58kg) and Jumbo Prince (56.5kg).

Jumbo Prince also contested the Wayne Wilson Mile last Saturday.
