Timeform Preview - Kembla Grange July 4

3 minute read

Echo Prince will be looking to go one better when he lines up in Class 2 company over 1200m at Kembla Grange today.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained runner was only narrowly beaten when runner up at this C/D last time out and he possesses a handy career record.

Tim Clark who has been riding in terrific form of late goes back on board today and would expect him to roll forward and settle on the speed from barrier 9.

Echo Prince possesses a good career record at the course, yet to miss the placings and he remains over the 1200m where he has a solid record.

The four-year-old gelding rates well against his rivals on weight adjusted ratings and if he runs up to recent efforts should prove very hard to hold out today.

Torchbearer has also been knocking on the door in recent times and comes into this on the back of two placings in city company.

Beaten under one length on both occasions, the Kevin Berry-trained runner looks well suited in this company and fourth up over 1200m should be nearing peak fitness.

Sam Clipperton sticks with the three-year-old today and would expect him to take up a position off the pace.

Torchbearer rates well against his rivals today based on recent efforts and his only win to date has come at this course.

Queen Tara also comes into consideration on the back of a good win when returning from a spell at Canberra last time out.

Form was very consistent last campaign and she has drawn to get a very good run today in barrier 3.

Tye Angland takes the ride for Peter Robl and stepping up to 1200m where she has won previously certainly comes into consideration once again.

Slight concern with her second up record, unplaced from two previous outings but if she runs up to her last start effort she can certainly mix it with these.

Centro Superior rounds out the main chances, finding himself back in grade today.

Form in the city has been solid enough and he has missed the placings just once from eight outings at the trip.

Over a year since his last win now but back in grade today looks well suited and would not be surprised to see him in the finish.

Good Luck!
