Angel’s Touch can continue her with her strong wet track form this winter when contesting the Casterton Foodworks BM64 on Thursday.
The filly has performed well in three starts since arriving at the Darren Weir stable, bolting in over 1620m at Donald two back before a closing third over a mile at Moonee Valley 15 days ago.
She now drops in class to contest the Casterton Foodworks Benchmark 64 Handicap (2000m) at Casterton on Thursday.
A dozen runners contest the event after the first five at the top of the weights have been scratched.
Two of those in Zafiki and Sheniyan were anticipated key players.
Angel’s Touch is a key beneficiary of these scratchings on Thursday.
The daughter of Dane Shadow should be at her peak fourth up and her form on heavy ground this preparation has been excellent.
The only query over the three-year-old is how she handles the 2000m with her lone prior outing over the trip coming last campaign when a midfield third at Newcastle.
It may not be an issue though in a race lacking depth with many in it struggling form form.
Emira kicked off her latest campaign well however has lost her way somewhat in her past two runs at metropolitan level.
A return to lesser company should be beneficial.
The Narcissist has been well held in his two runs back from a spell, last start beaten more than seven lengths.
Third up and out to 2000m, he may be ready to show something more.
Oh Baby could be a value player 16 days off a last start maiden win over a mile at Murtoa.
A daughter of Authorized, the filly should appreciate getting out over 2000m and she is now proven on heavy ground.
She should be peaking fourth run from a spell and has less convictions than most in this field.
