The 2016 Missile Stakes will see the return of last season’s star juvenile Capitalist, who has drawn in barrier three.

Capitalist hasn’t raced since winning the 2016 Golden Slipper in March but has won two recent barrier trials.

He is one of two runners in the 2016 Missile Stakes for Peter and Paul Snowden, who also have Tycoon Tara engaged from barrier six.

Group 1 winner Rebel Dane drew gate two in the 2016 Missile Stakes for Gary Portelli and Tommy Berry while multiple stakes-winner Big Money has drawn on his inside with regular rider Robert Thompson in the saddle.

The 2016 Missile Stakes field is rounded out by Generalife (Brenton Avdulla), Mount Nebo (Jason Collett) and Wouldn't It Be Nice (Christian Reith).

The day’s other feature, the Listed Randwick City Council Rosebud (1200m) has drawn nine acceptors including recent Sydney winners Thronum and Mediterranean.

Stakes-placed filly Quick Feet carries the joint topweight under the quality conditions with Hair Trigger, Pittsburgh and Uthred other key acceptors.

Former Victorian-trained mare Tycoon Tara resumed for new trainers Peter and Paul Snowden to score a good win. She soon crossed to take the lead and then set a reasonable tempo on the Heavy10 track (first 600m 37.52). She held a nice break at the 200m and then kept fighting back gamely to score well. Rebel Dane raced in second place, moved up outside the leader from the 600m, challenged at the 200m and kept fighting well for a sound first-up second, just finding the winner a bit too good in the conditions. Mount Nebo raced in third spot (a bit wide), moved up rounding the home turn and kept fighting on to take the minor placing. Wouldnt It Be Nice was last in the five-horse field, got a split at the 300m and kept battling on for (2.8 lengths) fourth. Big Money was fourth on the rails, got along the inner on turning for home to challenge at the 200m but struggled in the heavy conditions from that point to finish (3.1 lengths) last.
