Capitalist is drawn in the second heat of the morning, a group trial over 800 metres.

Capitalist missed a place as a hot favourite at his only appearance so far this spring, running fourth to Star Turn in the San Domenico Stakes.

Freshened up since, the trial will play a key role in determining Capitalist’s spring with the colt expected to head to the 2016 Coolmore Stud Stakes in Melbourne.

Winner of both the Golden Slipper and Magic Millions Classic as a two-year-old, Capitalist comes up against some talented rivals including classy Godolphin mare Ghisoni.

Capitalist’s stablemate Redzel, a winner of both runs this campaign, is also in the heat and would be expected to run them along at a fast tempo with stakes winner Souchez and ATC Australian Oaks placegetter Believe also in the trial.

Another juvenile Group 1 winner, Prized Icon, steps out at the Randwick trials.

Prized Icon is drawn in two heats, a group trial over 1000m and an open heat over 1200m.

Winner of the Champagne Stakes in the autumn, Prized Icon was a good first-up fourth in the Up and Coming Stakes but weakened out to run last to Hartnell in the Chelmsford Stakes at his latest run.
