Capitalist’s campaign had hit a hurdle when he was beaten out of a place first up in the San Domenico Stakes but given a freshen up since he looked back on track at the trials.

Winner of the Golden Slipper-Magic Millions double last season, Capitalist settled third away from fence behind his Peter and Paul Snowden-trained stablemates That’s A Good Idea and Redzel.

Eased into the clear in the straight, Capitalist was given gentle urging by Blake Shinn in the straight to join the leaders and draw away to win by over a length from That's A Good Idea with Redzel third.

Souchez was allowed to work to the line under his own steam for fourth with ATC Oaks placegetter Believe working home nicely for fifth.

Capitalist will now be aimed at the Group 2 2016 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday week before he heads to Melbourne for the Group 2016 Coolmore Stud Stakes.
