Race preview and tips for the 2017 Kembla Grange Classic at Kembla Grange on Friday where Hussterical and Dawn Wall are chasing hat-tricks.

Hussterical and Dawn Wall have each commenced their progression through the grades this campaign with each of them contesting the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic (1600m) on Friday in search of three straight wins.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Hussterical narrowly holds favouritism ahead of Dawn Wall with Lubiton also prominent in betting.

2017 KEMBLA GRANGE CLASSIC: RACE PREVIEW AND TIPS

Fleeting Stryke, Hussterical and Lubiton all work forward.

HUSSTERICAL is chasing a third straight win from as many starts this campaign after making all over 1400m at Rosehill 16 days ago.

She will be fitter third up and this shapes as a nice race for her, well suited under Set Weights conditions.

DAWN WALL is another filly here searching for a third straight success, saluting over 1800m last start at Rosehill.

Also down to run at Rosehill on Saturday however looks particularly well suited in this.

FARAWAY TOWN was making late ground in the Spring Stakes. Returns to racing against her own sex. Also capable on rain affected.

LUBITON has been competing against some of the best fillies around in her two runs back from a spell. This looks easier and might be ready to show something more third up.

The Chris Waller-trained Dawn Wall looks a very promising staying filly who appears to have ATC Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) prospects after taking out this Group Three race. She settled back in last place in the 11-horse field after being ridden quietly from her wide barrier (11). She improved along the inner rounding the home turn, got to second at the 200m, took a moment to wind up but then finished too well to record a strong win, her third from only four starts to date. Lubiton went to the front, travelled nicely, got a break on turning for home and was only headed over the closing stages for a good second after running a bold race. Faraway Town was back in eighth place on the rails, switched deep on straightening and kept running on well to take the minor placing.
