She settled in fifth place (between runners) behind a steady pace (first 800m 49.10). She was shuffled back to seventh nearing the home turn, got a split on straightening, challenged at the 100m and finished too well to score a smart win. Great Shot went to the front, steadied the pace, was challenged to turning for home but kept fighting back well, only being overtaken in the closing stages to finish second. Tradesman raced outside the leader (Great Shot), challenged that running on straightening and fought well for a close-up third. Comic Storm was near last to the home turn and ran on well when clear late for an eye-catching (0.8 lengths) fourth in a promising first up effort.
