Black Heart Bart and stablemate Ulmann are expected to fly back to Victoria from a Western Australian campaign today.

The Darren Weir-trained stablemates were sent west for Group One races, with [Black Heart Bart finishing runner-up in the Railway Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) on 25 November before suffering interference and pulling up sore in the Kingston Town Classic (Gr 1, 1800m) on 9 December at Ascot.

Ulmann finished eighth in the Railway Stakes before working to find the lead in Saturday’s A J Scahill Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) before fading late to finishing sixth, two and a quarter lengths behind the winner Silverstream.

Another stablemate, Mrs Gardenia, was being considered for a Perth campaign but that plan has since been abandoned.
