Early Mail and Blackbook Update For January 6

3 minute read

Early mail and Blackbook Update for racing at Randwick on January 6.

RANDWICK SATURDAY

RACE 7 (4) SIREN’S FURY: Has had little luck in all her four starts in strong form races since resuming in October due to her style of being a backmarker. Should have gone close to a win last time when she over-raced and was blocked for run at the 200m when beaten less than a length into third in a BM 85 over this course and distance on December 16. This is her chance as she reverts to an easier race against her own sex and gets a significant riding change to a strong rider.

RACE 8 (8) LANCIATO: Resumed with a cracking third carrying 61kg over 1200m at Rosehill on December 9 when he was blocked when full of running at the 200m. Drops a massive 8kg off that run and should be a big improver as it was his first outing since he recorded excellent back to back wins in this distance range early last year.

RACE 9 (11) MALAISE: Anchored by 62kg when a resuming second over 1250m at Canterbury and was still below his top when he didn’t have the best of luck finishing a close up fifth over 1400m at this course on December 16. Ready to peak and needless to say he’ll be winning this if he finds the form that saw him finish second to Hey Doc in a strong Group company over this trip at Flemington last season.
