Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) favourite Sunlight continued her outstanding winning streak, taking that to five with another impressive performance. She was quickly away, went to the front, was pressured mid-race (by Setsuna) and then fought back gamely when challenged in the straight to score in very good style. She is a classy filly. Godolphin-raced filly Cristobal settled just beyond mid-field on the rails from her inside barrier (1), got through on the inner in the straight and battled strongly for a very good second, staging a very good performance at only her second race start. Gerald Ryan-trained filly Sweet Ava raced in fourth place, challenged at the 200m and then fought on really well for third, in a most promising effort at her third race start.
