Not quite as easy as his two previous wins here, Tequila Time lasted best to make it three wins on end and his maiden stakes win. He led narrowly at first then established a half length lead at the 800m, hugging the fence around the bend and into the straight. Jockey Clare Lindop tried to sneak away and they were looking clear winners but over the final 100m had to hold out the strong challenge from Fundamentalist who, from well back turned in six wide then kept on strongly to the line to be a half length away in a nice run for second. Krone was also well back turning in and ran on well down the outer for third from Farooq, who battled away fairly well to take fourth.
