2018 COLIN STEPHEN QUALITY – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Dark Eyes, Shalmaneser and Harper's Choice prominent but not at any great expected early tempo. HARPER'S CHOICE has battled away in his past couple of starts contesting both the Wyong and Newcastle Cups. Prior to that recorded back to back successes at this course, one of them coming in the Winter Cup over this distance. Hard fit and can return to form on his home track.
GOATHLAND ran fourth in the Newcastle Cup eight days ago. Should be hitting his straps fourth run from a spell. Has placed in each of his three runs at this trip.
SIN TO WIN resumed nicely with a third in the Heatherlie Stakes. Would have to jump sharply in trip on that outing here but is also down to run at Caulfield over 2000m.
SHALMANESER unfashionable but has done everything right since arriving at the Freedman stable. Won the Taree Cup two back and was excellent in the Wyong Cup last start.
