A soft track at Randwick could enhance race favourite Egg Tart's performance in the Hill Stakes.

Favourite Egg Tart 's chances at Randwick could be further enhanced with a 60 per cent chance of rain in Sydney.

Trainer Chris Waller  says the five-year-old, a potential Caulfield Cup contender, will perform well on what is already a soft track for Saturday's Group Two Hill Stakes.

More rain can only help her cause.

"There's no doubting her soft track credentials. In three starts she's been unbeaten on heavy tracks as well as winning one on the soft," Waller said.

"She's very adaptable and she's still reaching the peak of her abilities, so certainly an up and comer in my stable."

Her most recent win was on a soft track at the Sunshine Coast.

Despite the mare drawing wide in the 11-horse field, Waller has faith in jockey Kerrin Mcevoy  who knows the mare extremely well.

"I'm sure Kerrin will find the right passage from gate nine," he said.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
