Leading trainer Darren Weir prepared the three-placegetters with the consistent filly Amphitrite scoring and remaining unbeaten in three starts this preparation and recording her first stakes success in sixth starts. She settled in eighth place, wide with cover, tracked up nicely coming to the home turn, dashed to the front at the 100m and then went on to score well. Krone raced in ninth place (between runners), angled into clear running at the 300m, challenged at the 100m and then battled on well for second. Verry Elleegant raced in seventh place on the rails, looked to be travelling well but was blocked in the straight before getting clear at a late stage and she then ran on well for third, looking unlucky in a first start since coming from New Zealand and at her first start for new trainer Darren Weir.
