Godolphin's Emotionless is unlikely to run in the Caulfield Cup after pulling up lame after a trackwork session at the Werribee quarantine centre.

His English trainer Charlie Appleby says he has been advised by local vets not to work the horse again until the results of a bone scan are known.

"Following routine exercise on Saturday, Emotionless was seen to cool out lame behind. But following a subsequent thorough veterinary examination, no significant findings were apparent," Appleby said.

"Because of the degree of lameness, in the best interests of the horse himself, we have taken the decision not to continue his training program until he has undergone scintigraphy (bone scan).

"This is on the advice of Racing Victoria vets.

"Because he will miss several days work, his participation in the Caulfield Cup is now very doubtful.

"If the bone scan shows nothing significant, he will resume full training, and we will look for another suitable target for him."

Emotionless is on the fourth line of betting at $17 for the Caulfield Cup on Saturday week with Kings Will Dream and Youngstar heading the market at $6.
