Fighting his rider, Paul Harvey, to the last corner, finally he was given his head once into the straight, balanced, grabbed the lead at the 100m then held on for dear life to the line. Galaxy Star was fourth last at the 500m, widest turning in and kept up a strong run but came up a fraction short. Great Shot led from the jump, looked to break clear turning in but was collared at the 100m, holding on for third from Ihtsahymn who had every chance, battling away to hold fourth.
