Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained mare Shumookh, a recent winner of the Golden Pendant (Gr 2, 1400m) at Rosehill backed up that victory with another Group 2 win here and her third win (with four placings) from nine starts. She was quickly away from her wide barrier (11) and soon crossed to the front. She then settled well under Tim Clark, clocking a steady 49.75 (first 800m) before getting a break rounding the home turn. She then dashed clear and went on to score impressively. The favourite Invincibella settled midfield (wide with cover). She fanned deep at the home turn and then ran on well, in the sprint home, to take second. Aloisia settled in second last place in the 12-horse field, got a split at the 200m and really took the eye with her late-closing third.
