Noted Trial Horses – November 28/29

WARWICK FARM WEDNESDAY: Maestro (R1); Snippetspeed (R1); Re Edit (R2); Sizzling Ace (R2); Word For Word (R2); Deprive (R6); Legerity (R6); Regent (R7)

DEPRIVE (Rosehill November 19): Big improvement at second trial since April to come from five lengths off the leaders and round up some good types in quick time over the 900m (53.94; 34.50), running through the line with plenty to offer. Only had the four starts as a 3YO last season for two wins and should be adding to that record.

WYONG THURSDAY: Baanone (R3); Accountant (R3); Mulberry Walk (R3); Enjoy Elsie (R4); The Runner (R4).

ENJOY ELSIE (Rosehill November 19): This Sepoy filly blew away her rivals to lead out by five lengths in the first 400m and went further in front to score by 8.8 lengths in the fastest 900m heat of the session (52.98; 34.30). Placed only start at Hawkesbury in August, she has the obvious speed to win races over the short courses.

TRIAL WATCH REVIEWS

RANDWICK November 27

Good 4; Randwick A Grass

13 Heats – 7 x 1050m (3 Open; 4 Maiden); 6 x 740m (3 2YO; 1 Open; 2 Maiden)

BEIDI (Chris Waller): Allowed to find his legs early in the fastest 1050m heat won by the smart mare PUMPKIN PIE in 1.03.55 (34.90) with a quiet ride from Hugh Bowman at the rear before working into it strongly between horses from the 400m and 200m. Had plenty to offer when he had to check at the 100m, losing his momentum but recovering well to hit the line untested. Set to improve sharply on his first-up effort.

SUPER PINS (Mark Newnham): Unraced Pins 3YO produced the best maiden trial, settling three lengths of the leaders then showing an impressive turn of foot when asked to pick up from the 600m to round them up easily and cruise home with plenty in reserve in the fastest of the 1050m maiden heats (1.03.70/35.20). Good improvement on his two previous trials has him ready to go to the races.

UNITE AND CONQUER (Waterhouse/Bott): Magic Millions contender back home from his Impressive Flemington debut win in October and again looked the part to travel easily in the fastest 2YO heat (43.70), sitting a length off the leader to the 400m before extending under little pressure and sprinting strongly to the line 3.3 lengths clear of the chasers. He’ll be a player in the good 2YO races.

MUSICAL GENIUS (Pat Webster): Lightly raced 4YO mare showed god promise with two wins last season and looks to have come up in the right form to make further progress. She travelled strongly on the bit in the fastest of the 740m heats (43.46) and had a lot to offer when she challenged the pacy winner INVINCIBLE LAD over the last 100m. Beaten narrowly but gave the impression she could have won the trial if called on by Robbie Dolan.

NOTED TRIALS: Alassio; Emperor’s Way; Chess Star; Pumpkin Pie; Beidi; Parry Sound; Havana Storm; Super Pins; Ljungberg; Dreaming For More; Unite And Conquer; Dubious; Mistress Mouse; Invincible Lad; Musical Genius; Eveleigh; Dunbrody Power; Russian Romeo.
