Dual G1 winner Alizee is set for a surprise summer campaign after a bleeding attack ruled her out of the spring.

Trainer James Cummings wants to give Alizee a short summer program to improve her fitness levels ahead of the autumn.

Alizee has not raced since she won the G1 Queen Of The Turf at Randwick in April, her fifth win in only 14 starts.

She bled after winning a barrier trial at Rosehill in August, incurring the mandatory three months ban from racing.

“I don’t want to leave her too long between not running in the spring and first-up in the autumn,” Cummings said.

Cummings indicated that Alizee is likely to have only one or two starts through summer. Sydney options include the Listed Razor Sharp (1200m) at Randwick on December 15 and the Listed Christmas Classic (1200m) at Randwick on December 29.

Melbourne races to suit the mare include the G3 Standish Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on January 1 and the G2 Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on January 25.

Alizee is entered for an open trial over 900m on Tuesday.

Dubious is being prepared in Sydney for his Magic Millions assault by Victorian trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.

The Not A Single Doubt colt has already had one recent trial, finishing a soft fifth in a 740m heat at Randwick on November 27 when he was eased down over the last 200m by his rider Michael Walker.

Walker is the retained rider for Dubious’ major owners Aquis Farm. He rode the colt when he beat Covert Ops and Krameric in the G3 Breeders Plate (1000m) at Randwick on September 29.

Dubious was a $350,000 purchase by Aquis Farm and Ciaron Maher at the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale last January and is eligible for $2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast on January 12.

His first lead-up is likely to be in the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions Classic (1000m) on Wednesday week.
