Much-travelled galloper Beauty Way  has now added Australia to his list of winning countries with an easy victory at Pakenham.

A winner in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and New Zealand, Beauty Way made his Australian debut on Saturday, taking out the David Bourke Memorial Handicap.

Ridden by Luke Currie , Beauty Way was sent off the $3.60 favourite is defeating Torgersen  ($6.50) by 1-3/4 lengths with Snoano  ($61) a long-neck away third.

Trainer Grahame Begg  said Beauty Way, who is raced in the same ownership as Beauty Generation, an odds-on favourite for Sunday's Hong Kong International Mile, had only been in his stable for two weeks.

He explained the strict quarantine rules governing horses travelling from Hong Kong to Australia had required Beauty Way spending time in New Zealand before making his way to his stable.

"He's had a few issue over his life span," Begg said.

"He would have come to Australia earlier but because of the quarantine laws he couldn't come and he had to spend time in a neutral country and that's why he spent time in New Zealand."

Begg said New Zealand trainer Tony Pike had sent the gelding over in top order.

"We haven't had to do a lot with him as far as his work goes and I've kept him working on his own which has made it hard getting a line of the horse," Begg said.

"I isolated this race thinking it would be a good race for him.

"Pakenham is a great track for horses that need that little bit of cut in the ground, even though it went up to a good three, it has a good cover of grass."

Begg said he may now give Beauty Way a summer break before preparing him for an autumn campaign and a possible trip to Sydney.
