2019 VAMOS STAKES - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Vamos Stakes is a Group 3 race for fillies and mares conducted by Tasmanian Turf Club in Mowbray, Tasmania.

The Vamos Stakes was first run in 2007 and was won by Lekitama.

It is worth $125,000 in 2019.

The Vamos Stakes is run over 1400m under Weight For Age conditions.

It’s always been run at that distance.

It was initiated as a Listed race but became a Group 3 from 2014.

The most outstanding record on the honour roll is that of Lady Lynette. The Tassie mare won the race three times in 2009 and then again in 2011 & 2012.

Notable winners of the Vamos Stakes include Life On The Wire (2018), I Love It (2016), Rebel Bride (2014) and Lady Lynette (2009/2011/2012).

The 2018 Vamos Stakes was won by Life On The Wire from Step The Pedal and Gee Gees Top Notch.
