Godolphin-raced filly Lyre followed her good win in the fillies' Blue Diamond Preview (Gr 2, 1100m) on February 9 with a very good win in this Group 1 feature. She settled back in tenth place, between runners, from her good barrier (5), improved (wide out) at the home turn, sprinted quickly and finished too well to score a very good win, staging a really smart performance. Lankan Star had a nice trip in about seventh place, between runners, got a split to challenge nearing the 100m and then fought well for a good second. South Australian-trained colt Free Of Debt raced in fourth place, moved up outside the leader (I Am Immortal) nearing the home turn, went to the front at the 200m and then fought on gamely for a close-up third. Athiri settled towards the tail of the field from her difficult barrier (13), put in a run (deep) on turning for home and kept running on well for (1.3 lengths) fourth. Brooklyn Hustle was last coming to the home turn and then finished well for (1.4 lengths) a good fifth. Loving Gaby was ninth, between runners, and ran on in restricted room for an unlucky (1.9 lengths) sixth with I Am Immortal seventh, after leading until the 200m.
