Mick Kent junior has started a new venture with Caulfield trainer Mick Price  in the best possible way with Mystery Love  winning at Sandown.

Price and Kent joined forces on Monday in a training partnership that he hopes will be rubber-stamped by Racing Victoria in coming weeks.

Kent is the son of Cranbourne trainer Mick Kent.

Mystery Love made it two-from-two with her win in Wednesday's Polytrack Handicap.

"I only started on Monday, so I can't take any of the credit," Kent said.

Kent acknowledged partnerships were the way of the future for up-and-coming trainers.

"I'm only 28 and to start on your own now could be a hard slog unless you've got some good backing," Kent said.

"To be asked by Mick Price who has an amazing system around him, I couldn't say no."

Kent said he had previously held a restricted licence while also riding on the picnic circuit.

He said Mystery Love was a nice filly who should graduate to better company.

"Being a three-year-old filly there's stakes races on the doorstep so we might look at the Adelaide carnival, but we'll go home and make sure she's pulls up fine and work it out," he said.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
