2019 GIMCRACK STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Specialism will likely lead with Mia Dolce from wide out and Rubic Rose on the inside. Genuine tempo. SPECIALISM (3) was a brilliant winner at her first two starts then bumped into a smart gelding when narrowly beaten back in December. Has trialled well and blinkers on. She will give a sight.

AMELIA'S ON FIRE (6) created a huge impression with a debut win here a month ago as a very short priced favourite. Must be respected. MISS WEST COAST (2) won two straight before a gallant third behind a smart one at Pinjarra. Drawn well and sure to be in this for a long way. Niccovi is very smart and can win with any luck and Prim And Proper is in the mix too.

Form Preview

Coming off a stakes-placed second on debut here two weeks ago, Rio Del Mar graduated to stakes winner with a determined win here. From barrier eight she moved towards the fence soon after the start to settle fifth, one off the fence. She sat in behind the leading trio approaching the straight but needed a run near the 200m. With the narrowest of gaps she squeezed through, co-led at the 100m then grabbed the lead alone but did not have much to spare at the line, holding on well by a half head. Prim And Proper was locked away on the fence in sixth prior to straightening, got the split on the inner at the 200m and gave the winner a really good fight to the line. Miss West Coast was third (rails) turning in, co-led at the 200m and the 100m then fought hard for her third from Amelia's On Fire, who was one of the co-leaders at the 200m then held on for fourth.
