FWD QEII Cup

DEIRDRE - JPN

One lap of the dirt track at an easy canter after warming up in the trotting ring.

Work rider Yuta Komiyama said: “She was training with Vivlos every morning in Dubai, so she seemed a bit lonely when she arrived here, but thanks to Viddora, who stays at the same quarantine stable, she is ok now. Because she has been working alone since she arrived, she was a bit nervous of the other horses this morning, but she is in good condition. She has a very good appetite.”

EAGLE WAY – HK

Trainer John Moore said: “Eagle Way has hit a purple patch of form. That run in the mile behind Beauty Generation last time was a cracking run. His last 400 metres was impressive. Ivan, his riding boy, said that he’s in top form and we’re expecting a very big run in the QEII Cup. And he holds a track record so he only has to reproduce that to have a big chance. We couldn't be happier.”

EMINENT – GB

Remained in the quarantine area as planned.

LYS GRACIEUX - JPN

Warmed up in the trotting ring and cantered for 1 ½ laps of the all-weather track.

Work rider Yusaku Oka said: “She has been reacquainting herself with the surroundings here since this is her second time at Sha Tin. She is eating up very well.  All has gone well so far.”

SOUTHERN LEGEND – HK

Trainer Caspar Fownes said: “He’s alright, he looks beautiful, everything is good; he'll have a gallop tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, so we'll make a final decision tomorrow with him but at this stage it's all systems go”

“He looks great, there is no indication that the Dubai race has taken a toll on him, he's been away and back so it's a little bit tough to have them where you really want them”

WIN BRIGHT - JPN

Warmed up in the trotting ring and had a steady exploration of the dirt track, walking and jogging a circuit at his leisure while looking keen for some faster action.

Work rider Manabu Kobasako said: “He has travelled over well and has a very good appetite.  He is in good form and has been the same as he is at home.”

FWD Champions Mile

BEAUTY GENERATION – HK

Trainer John Moore said: “We’ve increased his workload a little bit since his last run to make sure he’s very sharp on the day. In fact, on Thursday he’ll jump out of the gates, which isn’t usual for him. I just want to switch him on a bit because he’s been up a long time.”

Chairman’s Sprint Prize

ENZO’S LAD (NZ)

Remained in the quarantine area as planned.

NAC VENUS – JPN

Warmed up in the trotting ring at the quarantine area and then cantered for a lap on the all-weather track.

Work rider Hirokimi Tamogi said: “It was her first day out on the track this morning but she was not eager. She has travelled over very well.”

VIDDORA – AUS

Cantered on the all-weather track.

Track rider Paddy Bell said: “She's fine, just stretched her legs on the all-weather this morning. She's been here a while now and really has settled in. All's well. She'll have a gallop on the turf tomorrow with Joe (Bowditch) aboard.”
