Chris Scholtz reviews the Sydney barrier trials at Rosehill on May 24.
ROSEHILL May 24
Good 4; Inside Grass
13 Heats; 4 x 1030m (2 Open; 2 2YO); 9 x 900m (1 Open; 5 2YO; 1 3YO; 2 Maiden)
Average quality set of trials which is typical heading into the winter months. That said, there were enough solid efforts to suggest a number of coming winners will emerge from this session. Particularly taken by the efforts of Papal Warrior (despite slow time), Funstar, Aquitaine, Vici and Rotator among the 2YOs and the 3YO Licko’paint from the Lindsay Park stable having his first trial in Sydney.
The well exposed older horses Federal, Kawaikini, Valentino Rossa and Spiritual Pursuit trailled nicely and look set for good winter campaigns.
NOTED TRIALS
XX Vici; Papal Warrior; Licko’paint
X Federal; Valentino Rossa; Kawaikini; Petronius; Spiritual Pursuit; Funstar; Aquitaine; Just Jessie; Rotator; Knickpoint; Forgiato; Keen On Gold; Misteed; Skyann.
