Jockey Michael Cahill has continued his wonderful winter run with Ready To Prophet , winning the race named for her trainer, the Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich.

Cahill has been the undoubted star of the Queensland winter, winning six stakes races including the Group Ones Doomben 10,000 and Kingsford Smith Cup.

He gave Ready To Prophet ($6) a prefect run before she came away to win by 3/4 of a length from Organza ($2.80) with Skate To Paris ($35) a short half head back in third.

It was the fifth time Cahill has won the Waterhouse Classic but the first for Waterhouse and training partner Adrian Bott .

"The race has been really good to me but it was an extra thrill to win it for Gai," he said.

"She is a nice filly and she will go on to win better races."

Whether those races will be in the winter is up in the air as no decision has been made about her next run.

Stable representative Alana Pearson said Ready To Prophet was entered for next week's Group One Tattersall's Tiara at Eagle Farm but no decision ad been made on a run.

"She could back up but Gai or Adrian will make that decision. Perhaps there might be something for her at Caloundra in a fortnight," Pearson said.

Jockey Larry Cassidy said Organza had been unlucky after being pushed back through the field.

"She really got home well," he added.
