The Melbourne Mail : Flemington - 22nd June 2019

We return to Flemington this week for a very competitive card which should provide it's share of betting opportunities.

The sixth race on the card features four through the Swan Hill Cup but it's Flemington form that has taken our eye with Five Kingdom impressing in his return from a spell two weeks back.

That came in as a career-best effort for Five Kingdom , and that he did it off a spell, with a lightly raced profile, has to be seen as a positive for his campaign ahead. He put up plenty of promising efforts over the summer and we like that his ratings really got going in the right direction when he stepped out beyond 1400m. The mile second up looks ideal for him.

Race four on Saturday is the lone staying race on the card and it's an interesting one, with Pacodali tried up in trip off form against better horses.

The equivilent Flemington race two weeks ago, won well by Chouxting The Mob, was run at a crawl, and with a similar line-up engaged it's easy to see things panning out similarly.

That would mean that Pacodali could get away with things without having his stamina fully tested but there might be a soiler engaged in the form of Azuro.

Azuro made an early move in the Andrew Ramsden and set up a strong overall rating for that race. He only wilted late and the standard of stayer he faced there is lengths ahead of what confronts him on Saturday.

He stays well, he has strong recent figures, and he might be the one to make the most of the pace situation.
