NSW police have seized a number of substances and items at the home of Kembla Grange trainer Michael Tubman.

Racing NSW stewards have charged Tubman after opening an inquiry into the circumstances of the police raid that took place on June 14.

Detected in the substances seized was the banned stimulant erythropoietin (EPO) contained in a full 100ml vial of Coforta.

The analysis of the other substances and items is ongoing.

Due to the seriousness of the charge issued, Tubman's licence has been suspended on an interim basis pending submissions from the trainer.

Tubman is not permitted to nominate, accept or start a horse in a race or barrier trial, nor work any horse being trained by him but is permitted to continue to provide care for his horses during the next seven days.

Tubman has five days to provide any evidence or submissions in respect to the continuation of his licence to train.

* Rosehill trainer Richard Freedman has been fined $5000 after Racing NSW stewards completed an inquiry into the findings of phenylbutazone and its metabolites in a blood and urine sample taken from the mare Pumpkin at Warwick Farm on April 17.

The samples were obtained prior to and after Pumpkin Pie finishing second in the TAB Rewards Handicap.

Evidence at the inquiry was unable to determine the cause for the detection of phenylbutazone but Freedman pleaded guilty to a charge of having presented Pumpkin Pie to race when pre and ost-race blood and urine samples were found to contain the prohibited substance phenylbutazone and its metabolites.

The stewards considered Freedman's guilty plea and his unblemished record as a licensed trainer before issuing a fine of $5000.

Pumpkin Pie was disqualified from its second placing in the Warwick Farm race.
