A careless riding suspension took the edge off Damien Oliver's winning double at Flemington on Saturday.
Oliver was charged with careless riding in the final 50m of the All Victorian Sprint Series with stewards finding that he permitted his mount Milwaukee to shift in when not clear of Sirius Suspect, who was ridden by Linda Meech.
He was outed until July 17, ending any faint hope he held of pegging back riding premiership leader Craig Williams before the end of the season.
Oliver's double aboard Second Bullet and Buffalo River took his tally of Melbourne winners to 63, 17 wins behind Williams.
Oliver resumed riding on Saturday from another suspension imposed for excessive whip use.
He will miss 10 meetings before he resumes on July 17.
