Apprentice jockey Tahlia Hope is responding to treatment for viral meningitis and has been moved from ICU at Frankston Hospital in Victoria.

Apprentice jockey Tahlia Hope has responded well to treatment for viral meningitis and has been moved from ICU at Victoria's Frankston Hospital.

The Victorian Jockeys Association said she had improved overnight on Thursday and by Friday afternoon had been moved out of ICU.

Hope was admitted with viral meningitis, infection and swelling on the brain.

"She has responded well to treatment today and been moved from ICU to the cardiac ward," the VJA said.

Hope, 20, has ridden 24 winners this season including a winning double at Morphettville in Adelaide last Saturday.
