2019 BELMONT CLASSIC – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Son Of Bacchus is the designated leader. Cockatiel might be handy and Pagan Image from the inside will sit in the first few too. MYSTERY MISS (4) picks herself here and will be a very short priced favourite again. Dominant last time and extra 200m no issue. Wins again.

RIVALRY GALORE (3) is a maiden but ran an excellent race behind a smart type up to this class last time. Can place again. PAGAN IMAGE (1) is getting back to form with a handy enough placing in the same race and is in the mix. Next best DELTA BELLE (6) off a maiden win and COCKATIEL (5) is a place hope too.

2019 BELMONT CLASSIC – SELECTIONS

The only maiden (albeit, stakes-placed in his previous start) in the five horse field, Rivalry Galore downed the hot favourite in a great tussle here over the last 100m. With little pace on he settled two lengths last with a circuit to run and remained there past the 1400m. The tempo increased from the 800m and at the 600m he moved wider and was poised to challenge rounding the last corner. Widest of four across the track at the 300m he took a slim lead at the 200m then had to withstand the favourite's strong challenge but was able to hold on gallantly at the post. Mystery Miss was fourth to the 600m, moved up to be one of four across the track at the 300m and tried hard all the way to the line. The first two were well clear. Cockatiel went up to the leader turning in, was also one of four chances at the 300m but had no answer, battling on for third.
