RACE 4 (4) VICEROY: The conditions are right for this Canberra-trained sprinter to go on from an excellent second-up effort after a long break in the Listed Ramornie Handicap at Grafton on July 10 where he was a luckless fourth in a blanket finish. It's strong winter form and his record shows he gets better into his preparations, especially as the drying Rosehill surface should be more to his liking than the softer ground he struck at Grafton. Looks a great value play at his early odds as he is well weighted in this class exploiting the 2kg claim for the in-form apprentice Blaike McDougall.

RACE 5 (10) OUR CANDIDATE: Kris Lees-trained import is making the right progress with his first four Australian starts producing a Wyong win under a big weight over 2100m before a very game second over 2400m in heavy conditions at Randwick when he just failed by a head to run down the in-form Kaapfever. Responded well to the application of blinkers last time and he will be meeting that subsequent winner 3.5kg better under fairer track conditions. Should continue to improve considering the success the Lees stable has enjoyed with these type of imported stayers.

RACE 9 (10) OXFORD TYCOON: Reliable sprinter in this class is due for a win after three placings from his four starts since resuming when poor draws and affected tracks have been against him. Has a fitness edge now and drawn to get all the favours this time from the rails gate on a better surface. Safe each-way gamble.
