Godolphin's 2019 Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) winner Exhilarates staged a very good first-up performance in winning here. She began well, settled in ninth place, tracked up (wide with cover) from the 600m, dashed to the front on passing the 100m and then went on to score impressively. Absolute Flirt was handily placed in third sport, but deep without cover. She raced to the front on straightening and then fought well for a very good second. Pin Sec settled in last place in the 11-horse field, went deep rounding the home turn and kept running on well to take third in a photo from the favourite Lyre, who had been nicely placed but was shuffled back in traffic before making good late ground for (3 lengths) fourth. Excused was second last to the home turn and then ran on nicely for (3.2 lengths) fifth, while Sizzlefly was wide all the way and did well in holding on for (3.5 lengths) sixth after a difficult trip.
