The big betting move for Victorian visitor Tour Down Under at Randwick on Saturday has sparked the interest of Racing NSW stewards.
Tour Down Under, trained at Mornington by Robert Kingston, opened at $26 in early markets.
After scratchings his opening price on race morning was $17. By start time his SP was $4.20.
Tour Down Under , the winner of two of his previous eight starts in Victoria, ran home gamely to finish second in the 1550m event won by Commander.
The stewards reported that prior to the running of the event they had monitored significant betting support for Tour Down Under.
The betting was monitored both on course and off course. The stewards reported that they were satisfied with the riding tactics adopted in the race by Robbie Dolan.
However as a result of the support the stewards advised that they will conduct a review of the betting on the event to ascertain as to whether any betting anomalies are evident.
