Wodonga trainer Craig Widdison has been charged by Racing Victoria stewards after one of hius Melbourne runners returned an elevated bicarbonate reading.
Cash Crisis returned an elevated TCO2 reading in a pre-race test at Sandown in February.
The six-time winner was permitted to start in the Sandown race but Widdison has been charged with administering or causing to be administered a prohibited substance 'for the purpose of affecting the performance or behaviour of Cash Crisis'.
He also faces an alternative charge of administering a prohibited substance that produced a TCO2 level higher than the ceiling of 36 millimoles per litre of blood.
He was also charged with presenting the gelding to race with a prohibited substance.
A date is yet to be fixed for the hearing.
