Godolphin has claimed a major provincial feature with Gaulois taking out the Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury.

Ridden by Tim Clark, Gaulois ($2.80 fav) powered home to beat Supernova ($4.20) by half a length in Thursday's Listed race.

Although not among the top echelon at the Godolphin stable, Gaulois has won six races, including the Listed Civic Stakes in June, and more than $600,000.

"He's been all round the country and was a bit unlucky in a stakes race in Perth," stable representative Darren Beadman told Sky Thoroughbred Central.

"He's very genuine and good to have in the yard."

His win was the third on the day for Clark who rode the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Maggie Miss and Nuclear Summit for Gary Moore to break their maidens at the meeting.
