2019 PREMIER'S CUP – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Chris Waller saddles up 9/12 runners in this year's Group 3 Premier's Cup, four of which are last start winners. Speed looks genuine over the 1900m journey.

GIRL TUESDAY (6) couldn't have been more impressive in her return when coming from well back to win easily over 1400m. Returned a new career peak and is sure to appreciate the step up in trip. Wet track some query, but still should prove hard to beat.

COME PLAY WITH ME (5) has won his last four straight and 12/27 overall. Form from WA measures right up and he has trialled very well in the lead up. JMac booked and ticks plenty of boxes in his debut for the Waller stable. SO YOU WIN (7) wasn't suited by the tempo last start, but still ran well, while GREY LION (3) also holds claims fresh.

Form Preview

His previous start aside, wet track specialist Wu Gok continues some consistent recent form, winning four of his last six starts in gaining his maiden stakes win here. He was handy from the jump and settled third (rails) past the 1400m and remained there all the way to the top of the straight. Hugging the fence turning in he took over the lead and never relinquished it, edging away over the last 200m to score by a length. Come Play With Me sat second down the back straight, was still second at the 600m then took over narrowly before straightening. He was headed at the 400m but never gave up to the line for a hard fought second. Carzoff was fourth, one out, from the 600m, pulled out to challenge from the 400m then battled well the length of the straight for third from So You Win who was fourth at the 400m but could not make any ground on the first three to hold fourth.
