The race forms part of Irish Champions weekend. The G1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes for the babies is on the same card but also includes the colts.

It was the first major success of the grand filly Minding in 2015 before her magnificent three year old season.

Some fillies who'd go on to classic success after taking this race include Sayyedati (English 1,000 Guineas), Tarascon (Irish 1,000 Guineas), Again (Irish 1,000 Guineas) and Misty For Me (Irish 1,000 Guineas).

Christy Roche has ridden most winners on four occasions while Aidan O'Brien has scored with eight winners as trainer.

Ballydoyle trained the trifecta in 2017.

The Moyglare Stud Stakes is worth €400,000 in 2019.

Notable winners of the Moyglare Stud Stakes include Minding (2015), Sky Lantern (2012), Misty For Me (2010), Again (2008), Sayyedati (1992), Capricciosa (1990), Chimes Of Freedom (1989), Park Appeal (1984) and Habibti (1982).
