Injured Hugh Bowman Could Miss Three Weeks

Star jockey Hugh Bowman will undergo surgery on the little finger of his right hand which has been broken in a trackwork fall.

Champion jockey Hugh Bowman will be sidelined for up toi three weeks after suffering a broken finger in a trackwork fall at Randwick on Tuesday.

Bowman was taken Prince of Wales Hospital where he was found to have fractured his little finger on his right hand.

He underwent surgery with medical advice being that he will probably be out of riding for up to three weeks.

The folowing replacement riders for Bowman have been confirmed for Canterbury on Wednesday:-

Race 2, No.4 - WAY BACK WHEN (Chris Waller) now Glen Boss
Race 3, No.8 - BOLLYWOOD (James Cummings) now TBA
Race 4, No.5 - ROOSEVELT (James Cummings) now TBA
Race 5, No 4 - EVER SO NATURAL now Jason Collett
Race 7, No 3 - FLYING PIERRO now Glyn Schofield
