2019 LET'S ELOPE STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS

Map is a bit speculative but Fundamentalist lands up there and can lead if she chooses. FUNDAMENTALIST (6) was sound fresh but it was a steadily run race and that may have caught her out going straight into a high-pressure Group 1 last time. She was okay there and this is much easier. Gets a great chance to land one.

MY PENDANT (7) has a better winning record. Chases a third on the bounce and must be a hope again. FIDELIA (9) ran really well fresh and 1400m here suits. She will rattle home. MUSIC BAY (3) will be another second up improver and PRINCESS JENNI (1) should run well before getting out over further.

Form Preview

Spanish Whisper followed her good first-up second to the promising mare Pippie in the Cockram Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Caulfield on August 31 with a smart win here, her third Group success in 14 starts. She had a nice trip in fourth place, moved up on straightening, hit the front on passing the 200m and then went on to score well. Miss Siska raced outside the leader (Fundamentalist), went to the front at the 300m and then battled gamely for second in a good first-up effort. The favourite Fidelia settled back in ninth place on the rails before improving between runners from the 300m. She went back to the inner at the 100m and then did well in fighting for a close-up third. Amberdi was a handy fifth to the home turn and battled on for (1.1 lengths) fourth while My Pendant made good ground from tenth at the home turn for (1.3 lengths) fifth.
